If you're talking about Allah, let me tell you that you are wrong in defining him, you can only reach him through your actions, talks of sentiments and heart and idol is irrelevant. If you don't offer prayers 5 times a day, it does not matters whether you have taken the shahada or not, if you're not fasting, you are equivalent of kafir…I think you are sensationalizing something which is meant to be practical, action oriented and driven through commitment. The concept of idol in Islam is very clear, if you are holding something on equal terms with God i.e. if you start worshipping it, then it is a problem
